His unique contemporary instrumental music draws on elements of World Music, Jazz, Classical, Folk, Rock and New-Acoustic Techniques (two-handed tapping and percussive slaps) all honed into a highly refined and melodically driven compositional approach.

From Dean Markley Strings website -

Imagine what the music of a great talent would sound like if he lived his formative years in various and wildly divergent cultures. It would be like nothing you've ever heard before. (Remember Paul Simon's Graceland when it first came out?)

Well Amrit Sond is such a talent, and he was born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya. After years of African folk music coursing through his veins, he lived in Kuwait, absorbing the various Middle Eastern sounds. Then he moved to the United Kingdom moving to the Rock/Metal beats.

Because Amrit Sond absorbed these wonderful beats, rythms, and melodies, we now get to hear a truly unique sound, a blend woven of the unusual characteristics of these influences and more.

Amrit's music typically changes tunings and time signatures while employing the acoustic guitar as a percussion instrument, using hand slapping and two-handed tapping.

Here are a few things they are saying about Amrit Sond:

“…His totally radical, unique approach to the instrument is awe-inspiring. His music is imbued with obvious passion for the instrument... exploring the cutting edge of endless possibilities as if it were his home.”
Sanjay Sethi - www.whatthefunk.com

“… Amrit Sond is of a rapidly growing breed of instrumental acoustic guitarists who utilise every surface of the guitar to provide an exciting vareity of percussion while playing highly complex contrapuntal guitar lines which negate the need for vocals and seem to explore every nuance the strings have to offer. If well thought out, impeccably performed instrumental acoustic music is your thing then Circular Motion was made for you!!”
The Virtually Acoustic Club/UK

“…an Alchemist!!, he explores the full dynamic range of the instrument, his compositions incorporate eastern influences weaved into a western approach.” The 12 Bar Club/UK
