Pete Smith and Roger Inniss were due to support Gary Ryan at the Gaiety Theatre, on September 4th 2009 as part of the IOM & MGP GuitarFest, but, unfortunately, were delayed on the ferry with Rod Clements & Gordon Giltrap!

Pete first played for JonnoPromotions in 2007 with Chris Williams, Amrit Sond and Michael Berk as part of the Acoustic Madness gig in Peel.

The picture is of Pete's Douglas debut with Roger Inniss at IOM&MGP GuitarFest 2009 on the Acoustic Stage on Saturday 5th September.

Pete & Roger played a slightly longer set at the Centenary Centre on Sunday 6th September (as Amrit Sond who was due to support Rod Clements, supported Gary Ryan in their stead!).

A bit about Pete ...

Thirty five years playing experience has made Pete Smith an extremely versatile and accomplished musician. Jazz, Blues, Folk, Ragtime, Calypso, Baroque and Bluegrass all get treated to his blistering fingerstyle technique and become playgrounds for his lightening improvisational skills.

Rated as one of the UK`s finest guitarists he has gained a national reputation not only as a phenomenal player but also as a teacher and story teller. Regularly receiving standing ovations at top international Jazz, Blues and Folk Festivals, few musicians appeal to such a wide audience which is testament not only to his outstanding musicianship but also for being genuinely entertaining.

Having rediscovered his love of the acoustic guitar in 1999, he has since gained international recognition for his unique arrangements and dazzling playing and, in 2005, was hand picked by Bob Taylor to represent Taylor Guitars in the UK.

Still a freelance session guitarist he regularly appears for top UK distributor Sound Technology as Acoustic Guitar Clinician / Product Specialist for Larrivee Guitars (USA).
