DC/AC MMX
For Those About to Race (We Salute You)!
Playing for the first time since their sell-out Joey Dunlop benefit gig in March 2008, DC/AC, the phenomenal Manx tribute band, will kick-start the Island’s entertainment for TT 2010 with a gig in the Royal Hall at the Villa Marina on Saturday May 29th, 2009.
The first entertainment of the TT fortnight sees the Villa’s main stage filled with an array of local talent! DC/AC are: Paul “Angus” Daugherty (guitars); Kevin Cleator (guitars); Dick Raine (bass); and John Cleator (drums/percussion).
The original DC/AC line up (August 2004 to March 2008) featured Baz Walton on vocals. Taking over that pivotal role of frontman and lead vocalist for DC/AC is Adrian “Ade” Bruce. Those who know the Island’s music scene well will certainly know Ade as the remarkable voice at the front of “A Little Bitta’ Rosie”.
Kevin, Dick and John were for many years the backline of the very popular local rock covers band Brazen. Dockers (as Paul is better known) has been a member of numerous local bands and his most recent project is called “Sawbones”. Their CD, created by Dockers, Dave Smyth and Adie Evans, has been getting some good airplay on the Island’s radio stations.
Special guests, Maldune, will be opening the show for DC/AC. This hard-working band has been entertaining the Manx public for over 15 years and their return to the big stage at the Villa is well-deserved. Maldune features the musical talents of Gary “Gaz” Smith (guitar and vocals), his brother Denzil (drums and percussion) and their long-time friend Steve “Noshie” Nash (bass and vocals).
JonnoPromotions are particularly proud to have been approached by DC/AC to promote and manage this very special Manx musical happening. Andy James will be stage manager for this event, ELS will be providing the lighting technology and Mark Cleator of Manx Sound will be leading the sound team.
Royal Hall, Villa Marina, Harris Promenade, Douglas, Isle of Man. Saturday May 29th, 2010. Doors 19.00; show 20.00.
Tickets are £12 each and will go on sale on Tuesday 16th February 2010 at 9.30am from the Welcome Centre at the Sea Terminal, online and from the ticket hotline 01624 600555.
